Who I am

Hello and Thank you for being curious!

I am a former science teacher, district and state leader. Over the past fifteen years, I've had the privilege to teach and lead in the United States and Egypt. Experiences in international education, education-research and pharmacy training have enabled me to understand the non-linear nature of the relationships in education systems. One major issue education leaders fall into is failure to recognize how these relationships interact. Solutions are often linear in nature, and while these may yield short-term results, they often fall short in meeting long-term goals. To this end, my consulting services prioritize uncovering these causal relationships to meet your needs.

Education Background | I graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Pharmacy from Cairo University, a Masters of Education in Secondary education from The College of New Jersey, and a Doctorate in Science Education from Teachers College, Columbia University (Mixed methods, mapping mental models of scientific reasoning).

Learning Continuum Consulting's Five Governing Principles

At Learning Continuum Consulting, We....

#1 | Are servant leaders: We are humble, we listen carefully (while suspending judgements), we ask the right questions, and we build trust to enable you to do your best work.

#2 | Believe that learning occurs on a continuum and is a non-binary process. As such, teaching requires identifying where students are on the continuum and what instruction needs to be deployed to help advance students along this continuum.

#3 | Understand that context matters and there is no one-size fits all. We meet your needs by drawing from (high-impact) research, best practices and contextual data.

#4 | Work hard to ensure that our children's education is: Equitable, Ambitious, Rigorous, and Socially-embedded.

#5 | View the purpose of schooling as a vehicle for mastering the ability to: evaluate data, weigh evidence to make good judgments, solve problems, and attain social mobility.
